A glass of scotch over ice on a dark ground, the golden amber of the drink lit as if from within, each ice cube catching the available light and returning it as something close to sparks. The realist approach suits the subject: there is enough here to observe and enough light to observe it by. The glass gives a good account of itself.
Kitchen artwork for homes where appreciation for a good whisky informs the aesthetic as well as the evening. Works in a kitchen or dining room where a warm, beautifully lit canvas about scotch at its best suits the available wall, and in any space where the pleasure of a well-made drink is worth having on the walls. A distinguished piece.
