The ramen bowl viewed from above is a composition flat illustration handles particularly well. The circular bowl holds spiralling noodles, sliced pork, two halved soft-boiled eggs arranged with obvious care, and spring onion, a pair of chopsticks resting across the top. Warm amber and gold against a soft blush pink background give the whole thing a calm, considered quality. Each element in its place.
Kitchen canvas for homes where Japanese food culture is part of the way the kitchen is experienced as well as used. Works in a kitchen where a clean, warm flat illustration canvas adds character without competing with the room, and in a dining room where the art on the wall reflects the food on the table. A quietly satisfying piece.
