The Bengal rice fields at the onset of the monsoon have a particular quality: the green more intense, the sky more dramatic, the sense of abundance more present than at any other time. This canvas captures that moment with a modernist sensibility: deep greens and earthy browns in the foreground, the rice plants catching the rain as it arrives, a dramatic grey sky above. Quiet, absorbed, and fully committed to its subject.
Kitchen wall art for homes with a connection to the wider world. Works as dining room wall art where the art is expected to open the conversation, and in a kitchen with a natural, earthy palette where this landscape sits with complete ease. A piece for serious collectors.
