This Warhammer Horus Heresy upgrade kit lets you replace the standard bolters of MKVI Tactical Squads with a curated assortment of special weapons. Designed to be used with the MKVI Tactical Squad set, it enables you to field multi-role Tactical Support Squads, expanding your options on the battlefield while keeping your force visually distinct. The kit supports upgrading up to three full MKVI Tactical Squads into six Tactical Support Squads of ten models each, or twelve units of five models. All components are supplied unpainted and require assembly and painting to bring your force to life on the table.

Five distinct designs exist for each weapon type, ensuring your legionaries look varied and personal when massed across the battlefield. This upgrade set includes a complete spread of weapon options that you can mix and match across your squads, giving you a broad toolkit to respond to different tactical situations without changing the core army list structure.

Weapon options and tactical use

Flamers excel in bunker clearing, trench work, and close quarters urban environments, delivering concentrated heat where it matters most. Rotor cannons provide high-rate fire against lightly-armoured foes, helping you control the flow of enemy advances. Meltaguns punch through armour with thermic energy, giving you reliable anti-tank capability, while plasma guns deliver potent shots against heavily-armoured elites. Volkite calivers and volkite chargers beam thermal energy across targets, offering flexible options for pinning and clearing multi-figure units. These choices let you tailor your Tactical Support Squads to the mission at hand.

Five distinct variants per weapon type help your models stay visually diverse as they are deployed in large numbers. The complete kit comprises 100 plastic components and is designed to be assembled with the MKVI Tactical Squad set. As with other plastic kits, paints and tools are not included, and assembling with proper glue is recommended to achieve crisp joins and clean lines.

To use these upgrades in a game, you will need Warhammer: The Horus Heresy rulebook and either Liber Astartes: Loyalist Legiones Astartes Army Book or Liber Hereticus: Traitor Legiones Astartes Army Book.
