An extra-large black Buhera floor basket from Zimbabwe
Hand-woven by women of the Buhera district, on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia, from local river reeds traditionally used to store grain. Each is shaped entirely by hand, so small irregularities in form are part of the character — an organic, sculptural piece for the home.
Painted black, with the natural reed showing through as a striped pattern. A real statement floor piece at over a metre tall — striking on its own, or as a dramatic surround for a large plant.
