Set during World War II, the film follows Eugene Morris Jerome (Matthew Broderick) as he arrives at an Army training camp in Biloxi, Mississippi. Eugene and his fellow recruits find themselves under the command of the intimidating Sergeant Toomey, memorably played by Christopher Walken.

Adapted from Neil Simon's semi-autobiographical Broadway play, Biloxi Blues forms the second part of his Eugene Trilogy, following Brighton Beach Memoirs and preceding Broadway Bound.
