Baule people, Ivory Coast — kplekple ceremonial mask

Baule masks appear in three kinds of dance — the gba gba, the bonu amuen and the kplekple — performed at harvest ceremonies and celebrations. This is the round, "lunar" kplekple form, surmounted by two horns and danced to celebrate peace and joy.
