RLM 76 is the pale blue-grey that covered the undersides of German fighters through the second half of the war — a soft, washed-out tone that reads almost white against the sky, which was rather the point. This bottle captures a late-war variation of it, reflecting the way the colour drifted greyer and less consistent as production standards slipped in the closing months.

Best for

  • Undersurfaces on late-war Bf 109s, Fw 190s and night fighters
  • Fuselage sides ready for mottling with darker RLM tones
  • Modellers building aircraft from 1944 onward, where the standard tones wandered

Lay it down smooth and even — everything above it, from the mottling to the demarcation lines, builds on this pale base, so it pays to get it right first. Like all 3rd Gen acrylics it thins cleanly for brush or airbrush and dries to a durable matt finish.

The late-war pale base for Luftwaffe schemes. Pair it with the darker RLM tones from the AK 3rd Gen acrylics range to build the full scheme.
